Ishfaq Hussaini

Ishfaq Hussaini is a Melbourne based Australian and Internationally trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 30 years of specialist experience.
He specialises in hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement surgery. He also has expertise in minimally invasive shoulder and knee arthroscopy and reconstruction surgery. He treats adult’s & children’s fractures and other musculoskeletal injuries.
Mr Hussaini is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for his patients and providing the highest standard of patient centred care.
After moving to Australia, Mr Hussaini worked in Melbourne and Perth where he completed the Australian Orthopaedic Association training program and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
Ishfaq has completed a Trauma Fellowship at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. He also completed the AOA recognised “Bendigo Orthopaedic Fellowship” in hip, knee & shoulder joint replacement surgery and arthroscopic shoulder & knee surgery. He is trained in both computer navigated knee replacement surgery as well as accredited to perform robotic assisted knee replacements.
Mr Hussaini regularly attends local and international conferences and workshops to ensure he is up to date with the latest techniques, so he can provide the best quality of care to his patients. Ishfaq currently holds public appointments at Austin Health and Western Health where he is involved in the training of future orthopaedic surgeons as well as junior doctors. He is also a clinical tutor at the University of Melbourne for medical students. In his free time Ishfaq enjoys spending time with his family, watching the cricket and fishing from the local jetty.
